The city council of Austin, Minnesota awarded asbestos abatement as well as demolition bids for the cleanup of the Mi Terra fire site. Abestrol, Inc. submitted the abridged bid of $9,999 for asbestos removal, as well as BCM construction submitted the abridged bid of $107,600 for demolition work. The bids were approved by a vote of 5-0. Asbestos abatement is scheduled to begin on August 24, with demolition to begin on September 7. The project is expected to be completed by October 2.
