Commissioners from Lauderdale County, Alabama approved bids for renovation as well as demolition of the county courthouse, including asbestos abatement. The unanimously approved bids totaled $281,400. Of that money, $21,400 will go to Hardiman Remedial Services for asbestos removal as well as demolition work in the area that will be renovated. Renovation plans were made when the license commissioner’s office moved out of the building. The space will be used to make two rooms – one for the Board of Registrars as well as the other for a probate courtroom. State examiners as well as auditors will move to the snack room behind the aged license commissioner’s office, as well as other offices will be moved as well.
