Renovations at the Gage County Courthouse in Nebraska possess forced four attorneys as well as three administrative personnel from the Gage County Attorney’s Office to move downtown. The renovations include elevator work as well as asbestos abatement. Asbestos is a known carcinogen, ordinary in building materials for much of the final century. The staff at the attorney’s office has had to recruit help for the move, as it took over a week to make preparations as well as actually move everything to a law office downtown. Some of the inmates from the Gage County Detention Center assisted with the move. Gage County Attorney Randy Ritnour hopes that the move downtown will help his office get more involved with the community. The move as well as requires best organization of files as well as records, which will help county attorneys reach their long-term goal of having a paperless office.
