The Regence Foundation has announced its Sojourns Pathway philanthropic program to provide seriously sick patients with quality palliative care. Palliative care treats patients as a whole person, including pain management as well as discomfort, as well as providing support to their families as well as caregivers. Through its Sojourns Pathway grants, the Regence Foundation will promote hospital as well as community-based palliative care services in three phases. The three phases include hospitals that need help planning a palliative care program, hospitals seeking to implement a plan for a palliative care program as well as hospitals looks to expand their palliative care program through partnerships with other community organizations.
