Asbestos-concrete sewer lines replaced in Illinois town

The City of Galena, Illinois has been undergoing a reconstruction project. Mike & Nick Sproule Construction installed recent water mains as well as service lines in the 800-foot project, replacing the aged three-quarter-inch diameter pipe that had previously served as an extension of the water main. The aged iron water mains were replaced with recent high-density PVC mains.

Recent sanitary sewer lines were as well as installed to all residences in the project area, replacing the aged sewer lines that had been made of asbestos-concrete as well as were showing signs of deterioration.

Now that the work has been completed on the water as well as sanitary sewer lines about three weeks ahead of schedule, MNS Construction has moved on to work on the storm sewer system, replacing the 24-inch main with recent 30-inch pipe. After that, recent curbs as well as gutters will be installed, recent sidewalks will be poured, gravel subbase will be put in, as well as asphalt pavement will total the job.
