Patriots Environmental Corp. of Worcester, Massachusetts has been hired to remove asbestos as well as other hazardous materials from the former Machine-done Machine Products factory in Attleboro for $208,000. Abatement work is scheduled to begin on September 23 as well as should take approximately 45 days to total. Twenty-six companies had bid for the hazardous waste removal job. Demolition bids for the factory site are due on September 30, with work scheduled to begin in January. Machine-done west Attleboro for Taunton in 2008, as well as demolition of its aged buildings will make way for reconstruction of Wall Street as part of a larger downtown revitalization project.
