Asbestos abatement company hired for Massachusetts factory demolition site

Patriots Environmental Corp. of Worcester, Massachusetts has been hired to remove asbestos as well as other hazardous materials from the former Machine-done Machine Products factory in Attleboro for $208,000. Abatement work is scheduled to begin on September 23 as well as should take approximately 45 days to total. Twenty-six companies had bid for the hazardous waste removal job.

Demolition bids for the factory site are due on September 30, with work scheduled to begin in January.  Machine-done west Attleboro for Taunton in 2008, as well as demolition of its aged buildings will make way for reconstruction of Wall Street as part of a larger downtown revitalization project.
