Renovations at Mars Area High School in Pennsylvania keep getting more as well as more complicated. The school board recently had to approve nearly $85,000 in change orders for the $12.5 million project. One of the change orders was for additional asbestos removal at a cost of $23,205. The asbestos was found in the floor of the administrative office area. Abatement will take place over the next extended school vacation. Another change order included $6,315 to uncluttered up storm sewer lines that had never been cleaned before. The renovation project had a contingency fund originally containing $485,935. With all of the change orders that possess been approved so far, $327,955 remains. Renovations are running ahead of schedule. For the filled story, go to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. |
