The University of Wyoming had been cited for asbestos violations by the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality back in September. The university spent $5,100 to uncluttered up the asbestos contamination back in June, hiring Protected Air of Cheyenne to total the abatement work. Now it has come to light that the asbestos contamination came from two tiny metal buildings bought as well as removed from campus by Mason Skiles of Laramie for $368 back in March. A sales document from the purchase specified that Skiles had agreed to uncluttered up any debris that was associated with the building removal, but he did not do so. The buildings were two of six buildings sold by the university this year to make room for the $20 million Berry Center for Common History as well as Conservation. The spokeswoman for the university stated that they dont intend to pursue legal action against Skiles or try to otherwise recover the expense. For the filled story, go to Billings Gazette. |
