Memorial Coliseum could come down in March

Memorial Coliseum in Corpus Christi, Texas could begin coming down on March 29, with work possibly completed by June 7. Pre-demolition plans included an asbestos inspection that was completed in December, a demolition plan as well as an estimate. The eight-week bidding process was scheduled to begin on January 18. Preservationists did not carry out any sort of organized effort to save the coliseum. The coliseum, built in 1954, has been mostly vacant since American Bank Center took over as the primary event center in unhurried 2004.
