The former Youngstown Sheet & Tube Co. office building in Columbus has been approved for $631,343 in Uncluttered Ohio funding for its demolition. Asbestos as well as other waste must be cleaned up from the site before the structure can come down to make way for the expansion of V&M Star Steel, which would double the size of the company’s mill operations as well as create approximately 500 recent jobs. The project will cost about $872,000 in total, with the city funding the balance not covered by state money. For the filled story, go to The Vindicator. |
