Mesothelioma and Asbestos

Work crews at the Summerlin Road construction site in Florida keep finding more chunks of asbestos that need to be disposed of. The workers were hired to investigate the site, as well as they found three chunks of the toxic mineral on the east side as well as below the surface of the road. More than 30 chunks of asbestos were discovered back in December. As of January 8, the road widening project had been halted for six weeks.

Posen Construction was hired as the contractor for the Summerlin Road project. Incase more than 260 linear feet of asbestos is discovered in the investigation, as well as it can be proven that Posen intended to take the asbestos, the contractor could face criminal charges as well as fines of up to $10,000 a day. Posen has hired a state-approved asbestos removal company to carry out the investigation, as well as it has not admitting liability or responsibility for the contamination.

Back in January 2008, the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) fined Posen $6,500 when 1,220 linear feet of asbestos was discovered in another road widening project. Asbestos was as well as found in a third Posen road construction project in Florida.
