Mental health center demolition may be inevitable

Community input has been requested regarding the fate of the former Copper County Mental Health Center in Wisconsin. The facility was replaced by the recent Community Treatment Center in 2009, but the county is still accountable for the maintenance as well as security of the aged structure. It could cost $1 million to demolish the aged mental health center because of asbestos contamination. An evaluation is needed to determine how much asbestos is in the facility before further action can be used.
