The aged Cortland Elementary School in Ohio was purchased at auction final November for $10,000 by an investor who is trying to resell it. The building is 132 years aged as well as contaminated with a large amount of asbestos. Asbestos was commonly used for insulation as well as fireproofing purposes as well as is still found in many community as well as intimate buildings, especially those built before 1980.  Incase asbestos fibers become airborne, they can be inhaled as well as cause humorless illnesses similar mesothelioma, a rare form of cancer. Estimates place the cost of demolishing the school building at $1 million – $800,000 of which would cover the cost of asbestos removal, which must be done in an approved manner for safety.
