Tear in the protective plastic during VBC asbestos work

The Von Braun Center (VBC) in Alabama has been undergoing construction work. Visitors to a Havoc game or the boat show in mid-January may not possess noticed the warning signs concerning asbestos. They may not possess noticed, either, that there was a tear in the protective plastic barrier adjacent to an unfastened air conditioning vent.

VBC officials could not be reached for comment, but the hole has since been permanent. Asbestos is a toxic substance that must be removed under strict regulations. Inhaling asbestos fibers can cause mesothelioma as well as other humorless respiratory illnesses.
