With mesothelioma-causing asbestos gone, Montana-Dakota Utilities building comes down

The aged Montana-Dakota Utilities building in Billings, Montana began demolition in January after asbestos remediation was completed. SBH Inc. was hired to perform the demolition. In its place, a recent federal courthouse will be built. The courthouse project will cost $59.4 million.

The former Wells Fargo bank building was already used down to make room for the recent courthouse. Between the two buildings, a number of materials possess been recycled: 1,072 tons of concrete as well as masonry, 67 tons of metal as well as 28 tons of other materials. The number is expected to increase as demolition work continues.
