Mesothelioma and Asbestos

The Hunterdon County school board recently authorized more than $8 million for a construction project at one of their schools. Previously, they had spent $142,100 to rid the school of asbestos. The construction project had to be halted, in part, because of the discovery that there was still asbestos on the property. In 2005, the school district hired a contractor to remove asbestos insulation as well as floor tiles. The work was supposed to possess been completed, as well as air quality tests were later reformed. But, during the construction process, workers found 71 feet of pipe covered in asbestos as well as approximately 120 feet of asbestos surrounding the boiler. While all of the asbestos is encapsulated, there is some risk of a portion of it being disturbed during the construction process.
