The family of Barry Baumener, a Pennsylvania man, was awarded a settlement by an Allegheny county jury in unhurried January. Baumener died of mesothelioma as a result of asbestos exposure. Ferro Engineering was the only defendant remaining at trial. Bumener was originally diagnosed with mesothelioma in April 2009 as well as died in October at the age of 62. He was exposed to the asbestos while working for Carpenter Technology, a steel mill located in Redding. A month after his diagnosis, he filed suit against the various companies that sold products containing asbestos to the mill where he worked. For the filled story, go to Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. |
