The historic Patrick Henry Hotel in Roanoke, Virginia is being renovated in a most unusual way. Unlike most renovation projects, the hotel still had many useful items that earliest had to be sold, such as beds, coffee pots as well as other hospitality items. The hotel will be transformed into apartments, office space as well as retail space by mid 2011. The ballroom as well as lobby will be unfastened to community events. The renovation includes asbestos removal, which will be required throughout the building. Other renovation tasks are more cosmetic, such as restoring the ballroom floor to its former beauty, removing ceiling tiles to highlight the architecture of the original building as well as refurbishing original chandeliers.
