Michigan development to get $900k in brownfield funding

Lansing City Council in Michigan has approved a $797,873 brownfield plan for a development that will include a Sonic restaurant, as well as the Lansing Brownfield Redevelopment Authority has provided an additional $100,000 from its revolving loan fund.

The development is using place at the site of the former Governor’s Inn hotel, which requires asbestos abatement, demolition as well as other preparation before construction can begin. The restaurant is expected to be completed this fall, creating jobs for 40 full-time employees as well as 32 part-time employees.
