New Jersey school district to undergo $96k asbestos tile removal project

The Martha B. Day Elementary School in the Bloomingdale School District in Recent Jersey is scheduled to undergo asbestos floor tile removal this year. Provision for the job has been made part of the 2010-11 school budget. Carpeting was installed in 1996, but the asbestos tile that was west in place is now crumbling as well as could pose a potential danger to students. Incase asbestos fibers are released into the air as well as inhaled, they can cause humorless illnesses similar mesothelioma as well as asbestosis.

The $96,000 project, which includes kindergarten as well as earliest grade classrooms, the library as well as the teacher’s lounge, will be carried out during the summer while the school is empty. The carpeting as well as aged tile will be removed, as well as recent tile will replace the flooring in all areas.
