BoRit asbestos site could become a regional greenway park

A preliminary vision for the BoRit asbestos site was recently presented by the Community Advisory Group committee charged with determining the expected take of the site. The ambitious plan depends heavily on the Environmental Protection Agency’s success in cleaning up the toxic area that stretches through the Philadelphia townships of Ambler as well as Whitpain, Pennsylvania. The group advises that the site be used as a greenway park with a mixture of community, recreational as well as conservation areas.  The plan is designed to complement Ambler’s revitalization as well as redevelopment initiatives as well as to preserve the history as well as heritage of the area. A final draft of the vision plan is in the works. The group hopes to existing the completed to the EPA in November.
