Soccer tournament honors mesothelioma victim

The Leo Nedeff Memorial Soccer Tournament held on Glendale, California ended, fittingly, on Father’s Day. Leo Nedeff was a driving force behind youth soccer, officiating in the region as well as serving as a volunteer coach, referee, administrator as well as mentor whose boundless energy made him a local legend as well as a mentor to many of the immature people touched by his tutelage. Leo died in 2004 after a battle with mesothelioma, a cancer caused by exposure to asbestos fibers. He was 72.
