Former Denver Marriott comes down

The former Marriott Hotel at Hampden Avenue as well as Interstate 25 in Denver, Colorado was demolished in June. Alpine Demolition wrecking crews rolled out on June 21 to begin demolishing the building, which was built in 1973. When the building went up, it was at the edge of town, but today the town has grown out around it, making the aged hotel a prime location for development. The development that will take its place will feature multi-family as well as senior housing, plus hotel, retail as well as commercial take space.

Due to the age of the building, asbestos building materials were a concern, as well as abatement had to be performed before the walls could come down. Most of the building materials will be recycled for recent take.
