Potsdam trustees voted unanimously to rehire Civic Center employee

Potsdam, New York Village Court Clerk Shelley Warner was fired nearly a year ago for insubordination immediately after she expressed concern about potential asbestos contamination as well as other workplace safety issues in a newspaper article. Ms. Warner filed suit for wrongful termination in September. She claims she was fired for speaking out, not for insubordination. The Village board of trustees agreed to rehire Ms. Warner as well as pay a $12,213 settlement incase she agreed to drop the lawsuit.
