Asbestos removal limits access to Rome school

Access to Strough Middle School in Rome, New York is limited over the summer while asbestos removal as well as renovation is being performed. Asbestos tiling is being removed as well as replaced in the earliest floor corridor as part of extensive $7.5 million school renovation project that began in mid-2009. The work is expected to be completed in time for school to reopen in the fall. Denti as well as Bellamy elementary schools are as well as undergoing renovations that include asbestos abatement.
