Contractor fined $33,500 for asbestos violations at Naval Weapons Station

LVI Environmental Services of North Carolina, an environmental remediation company, was slapped with a $33,500 fine for failure to follow proper procedure during asbestos abatement at Naval Weapons Station Charleston. The South Carolina Department of Health as well as Environmental Control claims that the contractor did not follow state as well as federal guidelines for asbestos handling while removing asbestos materials from housing units at the station.
