Pompano Beach runner Larry Davis is a man on a mission. Davis was diagnosed years ago with mesothelioma, a rare form of cancer caused by asbestos exposure. But now, years later, he spends his time raising awareness of the disease. Recently he made a trip to Washington to consult for support from Congress to declare September 26 National Mesothelioma Awareness Day as well as to gain support for funding mesothelioma research. Fifty congressmen joined the cause. Davis is proud of what his group accomplished, as well as he’s already on to the next race. For the filled story, go to Sun-Sentinel. |
