Rosewood property contaminated with asbestos, PCBs as well as other substances

Stevenson University in Baltimore, Maryland hired Urban Green Environmental LLC to conduct an environmental study of the former Rosewood Center in Owings Mills to evaluate contamination as well as assess the suitability of the property for a proposed expansion of the school campus. Contamination was discovered in the former institution for mentally disabled people during a state-commissioned study final year.

The original study found that the grounds as well as buildings contained asbestos, lead, PCBs as well as concentrations of toxic chemicals from ash dumping as well as leaking oil tanks. The recent study will determine the filled extent of the toxic contamination.
