Federal funding allows Michigan school district to demolish three buildings

Federal funding from the Neighborhood Stabilization Program has been approved to tear down three schools in Taylor, Michigan. Monroe as well as Racho Elementary schools as well as Taylor Center High School will be razed to the ground after asbestos removal. Asbestos is a toxic substance that can cause humorless illnesses similar mesothelioma as well as asbestosis. The school district will retain control of the land following demolition. No plans are currently in the works for using the land.
